WM excursion to JoussenKarliczek

On Friday, 21 November 2025, students from the Werbung und Marktkommunikation degree programme took the opportunity to visit the JoussenKarliczek agency in Schorndorf.
The guests from the university were warmly invited by Oliver Sommer, himself an alumnus of the WM degree programme and now one of the company's four managing partners. Together with Adrienne Bloksma (Strategy and Conception), he had prepared an interesting programme for the young communication talents. Accompanied by Prof Dr Michel and Marion Kisling, the students were able to get to know the modern brand and communications agency, embedded in the contrasting historical industrial charm of the old leather factory.
Welcome to JoussenKarliczek
Oliver Sommer began by introducing the agency, its focal points and special features. In particular, the leitmotif of the "WITH YOU" spirit runs through the work processes, the collaboration with clients and the agency's day-to-day work, in which the JK team brings brands to life.
A tour of the premises, which are characterised by the special combination of modern design and unchanged building fragments of the old factory, tangibly underlined the agency's respectful approach.
Bringing brands to life
Adrienne Bloskma presented an impressive example of JK's expertise to the guests from the WM degree programme using the "WE CARE" recruiting campaign of Diakonie Stetten. In this campaign, Diakonie Stetten positions itself as a caring employer in order to counter the shortage of skilled workers in the care sector.
From the first joint brand workshop with the client, working out the employer value proposition, developing the core message, through the production and playout phases to evaluating success - the JK strategy expert clearly explained all stages of the process.
From start-up idea to brand
Using Timberix as an example, Oliver Sommer outlined the path from a start-up idea to a now authentic toy brand in the wooden building blocks segment. From a unique idea to a brand. This exemplary case also provided exciting insights into how the specialists from JoussenKarliczek were able to accompany this entire process with the elements, logo and claim development, brand strategy, corporate design, web design, website and packaging design.
Finally, Oliver Sommer showed the young talents from the Hochschule der Medien the opportunities to become part of the JK team and was happy to answer the guests' many questions. In a relaxed atmosphere, individual questions were answered and experiences exchanged over delicious refreshments.
Many thanks to JK!
The Werbung und Marktkommunikation degree programme would like to thank you very much for this very interesting morning. And above all for the appreciative hospitality that was shown to us. Many thanks to Oliver Sommer and Adrienne Bloksma for their time and attention, the friendly introduction to the agency, the answers to our questions and the open dialogue.
