Unusual photo series - surprising, bold and experimentally interpreted. Students from the Werbung und Marktkommunikation degree programme took a new look at the concept of "Wissenschaftsstandort Stuttgart" and implemented it creatively in their photography.
“Relationship between man and nature”
In our series of images, we show the development of the relationship between man and nature, focussing on the learning process through which man is able to apply natural principles for his own benefit. Existing human inventions derived from nature are shown. These are applied in an exaggerated way in the depths of nature.
This inspires the scientist to the finale of the photo series: the restoration of an original connection to nature. This is the scientist's most important realisation, because only through reverse development can the freedom of future generations be ensured.
Nature in a model
The scientist looks at nature through a model, even though she is standing right in the middle of nature. Instead of simply perceiving her surroundings, she focusses too much on a predefined scheme.

A look into the past
The scientist embarks on a mental journey into the past. She remembers the methods of her ancestors, who utilised the resources of nature in creative ways through careful observation and patient experimentation.

Propeller principle
Illustration of the propeller principle, which humans invented by observing fish, insects, birds and the seeds of the maple tree. At the same time, the rotor blades symbolise the rapid progress of science.

Lotus effect
This photo is dedicated to the lotus effect. People have utilised it in various inventions - two of which are illustrated in this motif. On the one hand, the lotus effect can be observed through the glass pane with beading water droplets. Secondly, the umbrella symbolises the lotus effect.

Suction cup effect
In this photo, the suction cup effect is illustrated by climbing with a plunger in an environment in which it is not normally used and does not occur. It has its origin in the tentacles of the octopus.

Back to the roots
This motif concludes the series. The scientist regains her forgotten connection with nature.
